Not to be mean Gody, but posting ads at random forums might leave people with bad impression of the game. Just look at Aeriagames and how people react to the advertisers at OnRPG forums.
Also, not to offend anyone, but some people write mediocre posts and don't even bother searching before making another topic about the same thing. That might lead people to avoid PG in the future.
Games can be popular without them spamming other forums, seriously. Look at most of the MMOs out there, the only ones advertising on the forums are usually fan made PlayerWorld games. Of course if the topic is nicely done, it's different, but it shouldn't be overdone. The thread made by Leaf worked, because he was proffesional about it and not too pushy (like: "OMG BEST GAME EVER MUST PLAY").
I'm all for inviting your friends and family to play tough. ^^ Or posting ads at your website, like blog for example.

I agree with Cornelia as well. I felt kinda dirty posting ads for the last event. It just makes the game look bad.

Do not worry - I got flamed on the Darkfall forums as well : ) MMORPG-gamers have more respect for posts that include a Youtube-link.
