This may seem like a rant to some, but it's more like a feedback.
If you know, there once was an update that made status ailments possible to gain resistance to, which of course still is with us today.
Because of this update, special effects of these items became annoying/impractical.
Thunder Wand/Bolt Staff
Frost Wand/Blizzard Staff
Poison Wand/Venom Staff
... Almost anything with continuous hits that does an effect.
Basically all elemental weapons from chests.
Why?
Let's say we're fighting Fenrir, and someone uses the thunder spell that originates from Thunder Wand. It won't do any harm to Fenrir, but it paralyzes him. That's great, right?
.... WRONG. BIG NO.
The paralysis is too short, and that's not all, each time the paralysis is applied, the enemy gains resistance to it, and it does 10 hits! Which makes ANY attempt to use the Zap spell that originates from Paralyzing Book have less chance to succeed, and each use gives you only one try. Imagine you'd be using gems for it, many gems wasted for nothing.
The same happens with elemental weapons, that means if someone uses an aqua weapon to put something to sleep twice, and I try using a Sleeping Book, I have only a 25% chance it will work. And that costs 1 Sapphire. One sapphire for one 25% try for an effect that makes sure to not wake up the next 3 seconds?!
Of course, all one-try long-lasting effect books suffer from this, unless you don't use a Blizzard Book before someone freezes the enemy with a frost weapon or frost wand, you're going to waste diamonds if you aren't lucky.
Impractical.
This happened when players were abusing the effect of Sleeping Book in Magicaloss tournaments, they wanted a quick solution which made these unfortunate results. Yes, this all began with magical books being possible to be wielded.
Even if the resistance is kept for only 60 seconds, It's very troublesome.
