Hello people. Most of you don't know me, I believe I went by the name of Utsu on the english version of Puppet Guardian, wasn't really that active and I only talked to one person, Lefigami. Even though most people don't remember me, I remember the community PG had, and I missed that, so I went to try to get into the Japanese version of it. The thing that stopped me at first was that I had no way of understanding japanese text, but I found a solution, ABBYY Fine Reader.
A program which is completely and stupidly overpriced, but I believe if you search enough you'll find a way to get it for free, I won't do that for you though. You can download it and use it to screenshot the game, and it will convert the text of the screenshot into your clipboard, as text, which then, you can use google translator to translate it. I followed this tutorial I found on a random internet blog: wonderpierrot.blogspot.pt/2014/04/translate-in-game-japanese-text-with.html (props to the creator, genius). The actual tutorial starts after the sentence "Alright, now with the prerequisites and boring things aside, let’s get into the actual process!" For better effectiveness on the screenshots, do not forget to do right-click - zoom - screenshot - zoom out (ingame).I'll give you an example: I believe the entire thing is a bit confusing, but if do have any problems or need help, just ask and I'll try to help as much as I can.

Hello Utsu! Recently, I have had an idea to search around for solutions to translation as well. Though I unfortunately will not be able to use this method much, I'm sure others will find this helpful. I have actually this method using Microsoft OneNote. It worked for the first time, but it didn't for the second time. Granted, I'm not really sure how to use the software so there's probably errors in what I've done. I'll try it again to see if it does work.
For those who do have OneNote, try it. All you have to do is take a screenshot of the text you're translating then paste it onto OneNote. Then, right click on the image and click "Copy text from picture". I'm not really sure how to do it at this point, but I think you'll have to right click again and click on "Alt text" and the text will appear in a dialog box. I think you'll have to take a screenshot of only one line of text because it seems to only capture the first line of text in the image. If you don't have OneNote, there are free OCR programs out there.
I'll update this if I find out how to properly use OneNote's OCR function.

Before trying this program, I was experimenting some other ones (specially free ones), from the guide I've linked. Basicly, those programs could not translate anything or it simply was not understandable. Don't let the "pirating" of the program discourage you, I've been using it both on Puppet Guardian and, recently, Magicaloss (Magical Rooms). I could go through both the tutorials without a problem, obviously its not super super effective but you can take an idea from what it translates!
Why would you not be able to use this method? Thanks for taking the time to reply!

Oh, sorry. I didn't make myself clear there. What I meant to say was that I won't really be able to play much, or not really be able to play at all really because of what I presume to be issues with the distance between my location and the location of the jp server, so I won't really use it much. Anyway, that was the problem with the OCR on OneNote as well. It's not effective and so far I've only had 2 effective results with it. I don't think it's for languages other than those that use letter of the alphabet (though as I said, it worked twice so well... I don't really know XD). If I get around to it, I'll try to mess around with the programs you've suggested.
