I kept this one in my mind for a very long time, and i guess it will be better for me to write it here
So, what if the gauntlets were able to serve you with more abilities like having a chance to use the effect corresponding with the gem which it is made of, but not so easily like you have a gauntlet and you can stone any enemy with any weapon, but the core of my idea is to make them able to be charged with magic points, here it is:
It should be made like this:
First... 100%
Second... 100%
Third... 100%
Fourth... 90%
Fifth....80%
Sixth.... 70%
Seventh.... 60%
Eighth..... 50%
Nineth..... 40%
Tenth..... 30%
When a charge fails the magic stored in the gauntlet explodes and performs it's magic like...
Red-eyed : Blazing Book Effect
Green-eyed: Poisonous Fog Book Effect
White-eyed: Blizzard Book Effect
Yellow-eyed: Paralyzing Book Effect
Black-eyed: Petrify Book Effect
Blue-eyed: Healing Book or Sleeping Book Effect
...and it should have 10% chance for every gem point you used to recharge
The higher charge level it is when it fails, the higher damage/effect duration the explosion has.
some examples below
You manage to get your Red-eyed gauntlet to the sixth charge, but while you attempt for the seventh, you fail and the gauntlet uses the Blazing Book magic with damage equal to
6 * 40 / 2 = 120
6 is the number of charges
40 is the damage of Blazing Book, it gets multiplied with the number of charges and then divided by 2
You are lucky, and you get your Yellow-eyed gauntlet to the 8th level, you attempt for 9th, but... oh no... it seems it failed, you got some little tourmaline magic back, and the foes around you seem to be idle for a very looooong time.
depleted gems * Paralyzing book effect duration -some %
so the time depends on how much gems you didn't get back, so let's say we got back 2 tourmaline magic so 6 was lost and the gauntlet uses the lost magic to paralyze all enemies in range for the time equal to 6 Paralyzing Book effects.
same with Green-eyed gauntlet, it does damage equal to number of charges multiplied with Poisonous Fog Book damage and divided by 2 and poison duration equal to number of wasted gems multiplied with the number of charges
For blue-eyed i am not sure if it should heal everyone or put all nearby creatures to a long sleep....
even more interesting things, more types of gauntlets should be possible to combine, maybe there should be a rule that when you charge one element (like Fire) and then you charge the oppositing one just once, it causes the first element to explode and the second one to simply vanish without doing anything, possible combinations should be like Zoisite+Emerald, Emerald+Diamond, Ruby+Tourmaline and so on, these effects should work together like Petrifying serpent staff and they look well-suited for "Warrior-like" characters.
Yes that's the whole thing, perhaps... you can tell me what you think about it?

Lilli

- You have a gauntlet that has no chance to put an monster in abnormal state.
- You use it.
- It consumes one magic point depending on the gem.
- It increases the success of effects like Paralyze, Poison etc... depending on the gem by x% and maybe the damage increase by x% to weaker element with any weapon!
- Moreover, you can use it many times, it consumes magic points and you have a limited count of hits before the effect is used up, every charge adds some extra hits before all charges expire at once.
- But as the gauntlet gains power, it's harder to maintain it
in the gauntlet and with more charges your success chance of next charge decrease.
It should be made like this:
First... 100%
Second... 100%
Third... 100%
