Yeah, sometimes it's hard to find people to team with. So I've been thinking, would there be a possibility to implement some mean of communication with people all across the game? Not only to the people around you, but to everyone playing at the moment.
And of course it would have to be widely known and easily accessible, so people would actually use it.
I doesn't even have to be a Global Chat implemented ingame, but maybe an IRC Channel or something. So we could see who is on and talk to them and form Teams easier.

There's already a thread about this

Aww, yes, there's a thread with a very similar name, how could I miss it?
Sorry Gody, you make so many threads, it's sometimes hard to catch up. ^^;
My question still stands though, is there any possibility to implement something like this?

I agree with this. If we had a global chat that was server wide then that would make partying much easier. One real way to get rid of that lonely feeling in a game is having a Global chat that's just a few keystrokes away.

Good points Folks, yeah, this can certainly help when you are the only one in the stage area.
One question would be what happens when the game starts gaining a larger population? At that point would you turn global chat off (it may get a little confusing in keeping track of whose all chatting)?
Anyway, this will be noted and reviewed by our dev staff.
Thanks for the ideas Cornelia, Eric, and Gody!

Yeah, I forgot to mention that the global chat should be turnable on/off, so it wouldn't flood the chatbox.
Actually some chat filters would be nice as well, so you could only see other people's whispers to you or Team chat without the need to see the general chat. But it depends on how big the game gets in the first place, for now that's just a small suggestion.

This would be great to implement. I am 100% for global chat with an off button.

Sorry for the bump--
Also, it's impossible to talk to specifically "someone" when that someone is not near you or is not in your friend list. For example, person a wants to talk to person b but person b is far away and his friend list is full, then person a has no way to talk to person b or to even tell that person to meet up somewhere.
Including a private chat would be nice.
Just a suggestion.

Yes, private would be nice, but it's a double edged sword. In many games I've met with begging, scamming and offending random people through whispers.
Then again, in PG there's no real way in scamming people, begging or throwing meat at others isn't too common as well. So it could work, yeah. That or bigger friend list.

I do not see the other thread yet, so in order to repeat myself:
New Apprentices logging-in for the first time need to be triggering an automated Global Message to all players not involved in quests (i.e. inside a tower and not in the lobby).
Thus, we can greet new players.

Sorry for bumping again--
Hmm, instead of messaging everyone, why don't we get greeters? Yes, those players that know what they are doing and that know the PG mechanics and have been playing for a while. Admins should give them teh possibility to greet. Make them stand out to new players like changing their name's color.
/e wants to know if it's going to be approved ASAP!
