I'm The Leaf and I'm a moderator. uh what else.... I helped to translate and localize Puppet Guardian into English. I have been playing pretty seriously now for about 6 months in both Japanese and English. What I love about the game is how it makes players into friends because success depends on cooperation and team formation. Cooperation and teams strongly encourage players to regard one another in a friendly, open way. The game rewards openness, courtesy, and friendliness, as well as skill and passion for playing. And I think that's what's so great about this game. Movies: Old Zatoichi movies from Japan, 3:10 to Yuma, Rushmore, Darjeeling Express (saw it on a plane), The Godfather, Cool Hand Luke, Steven Spielberg movies, Twilight Samurai, Spirited Away (Ten to Chihiro), Castle in the Sky. I also really liked Legally Blond and The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (otherwise known as Talladega Nights ). Games: Real Cards (Cribbage, Hearts), TV: C-Span (a little embarrassed to admit it) and live football, soccer, and Blazer's basktball, and, yes, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Music: Too much to list, but I'm a big Alison Krause and Union Station fan, Decembrists, Creed, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Surf music both old and new, Bluegrass, Paul Desmond, Stan Getz, Jobim, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald. So who are you?

Hello Everyone! I am BoomDizzle and am a moderator as well. By way of introduction, I started playing the Japanese version of Puppet Guardian for about 6 months. Then, after English version came on-line, I’ve been at it for about 3 months now. The game is cool in that you can collaborate with other players for different reasons. For example, you and your teammates could join forces to defeat a monster together (like the Basilisk). You could also share resources with other teammates, such as take turns rolling the dice while traveling together (this is VERY useful if you run out of dice ! ). Perhaps one of the biggest reasons why I like this game is that it develops a sense of real community of sharing and giving (eg., such as healing your friends). Hobbies: Sports: I love watching basketball and football. Favorite teams are Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers. My Fav 5 NBA players are -- Baron Davis, Lebron James, Shaq, Steve Nash, Chris Paul. Fav5 NFL players: Frank Gore, Patrick Willis (of course, I’m a little biased, hahaha), Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner, Champ Bailey. Movies: My Favs are Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, Star Wars series, 13 going onto 30, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Spiderman, and some “Chick Flicks” like Legally Blonde, Pretty Woman, When Harry Met Sally; I also like some Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Shrek, Finding Nemo. Fashion: Surf shorts; Polo shirts, any American Eagle stuff, Oakley’s. TV: Dance with the Stars, Seinfeld, Naruto, Pokemon, Disney Channel, Emeril, Iron Chef, Anthony Bourdain’s no reservations, Nanny 911, Dog Whisperer, It’s Either Me or the Dog. Food: Salmon steak, Rib-eye steak, macaroni and cheese, sushi, Thai curry, Dungeness crab (yummmm); French food, Italian, Indian curries. Hope to talk to y’all in the forums!

Hello everyone! I'm Concenaros.
I'm new to Puppet guardian and it's a great game!
I just started playing yesterday and so far I have a couple of equips. I really like this game because you can create pretty much everything you need. I ran Tower I numerous times just to get my character new clothes and a couple weaps to try out.
Anyhow if anyone ever wants to party or help me out... (God knows I need it) Just pm me or add me in game.
Peace!

Hey Concenaros,
Welcome to Puppet Guardian! And thanks for the props!
If you see either myself (Ultra7) or Zorba, give us a holler, and we'll go a few round together! We may even be able to gather some Japanese players or Australians. Makes the world seem a lot smaller, doesn't it?

Hi~ I'm Kami (in the game)
I guess I'm not really new. >.<;; I didn't know there was forum. Heh... I joined the Japanese one originally and then found this with the help of a friend of mine. So I've been playing for a few weeks. The game is intensely addicting when you have nothing to do.
I'm also an Otaku, I guess. I really like Anime and Manga. I like cosplaying, but I'm not pretty enough for it >.<;;
Let's see... I guess... Movies I like are; Labyrinth, Mirror Mask, In Bruges, Bring it On, Devdas, That Thing You Do!, Field of Dreams, Blazing Saddles, Princess Bride, Robinhood Men in Tights, The third Man, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland (made for TV movie and Disney film)... I like Musicals and chick flicks for the most part. I can't think of all the movies I like. I'm a huge Orson Welles fan. He's my hero. And so is Mel Brookes.
Tv shows; NCIS, Monk, Psych, 10th Kingdom... I think that's it. I don't watch a lot of TV
Favorite Anime; Saiyuki, Fushigi Yugi, Weiss Kreuz, Chrono Crusade, Toward the Terra (Terra E...) and uh... That's it I guess...
Asian Dramas; Goong/Princess Hours, Ryusei no Kizuna, Anything with Hiro Mizushima X33
I'm pretty boring... LOL

Welcome aboard Kami ~ It’s great of you join us! That's cool that you've been playing the Japanese one for a while, so I assume you must know Japanese pretty well… Right on! Yeah, I agree totally, the game can be addicting. Ryusei no Kizuna? Can you tell me who the actors are? I occasionally will rent Japanese dramas (to learn Japanese ;D:).

I don't know japanese very well. My friend was translating for me. And I don't know the name of the actors. You can look it up on Drama Wiki though. It was a good drama though.

Drama Wiki, cool, thanks for the tip! btw, here's good online translator just in case you'd want to try it out! www.excite.co.jp/world/english/Since it’s in Japanese, maybe you can ask your friend to help you use this. I have found this to be one of the best online ones.

Hello! Im Sinroe I just found the game and I gotta say the only way to describe it is it's different, very different. It's not like your typical grinder of a game, but like a colorful, fairy tale, interactive board game. It seems to hold an imagintive charm that very few games these days hold. Along with this, the social aspect I find is astounding. It forces you to make friends and aqaintences (that how you spell it ) and team together to take down bigger foes. so yah theres my intro I look forward to playing with you guys in game =D ~Sinroe

Glad to have you join us Sinroe!
And thanks for your kind props. It seems like you have captured a lot of the unique qualities which does make this game special. For myself, I like the diversity that the game brings where you can potentially party with players from all over the globe (in addition to the friendliness of players). Welcome again and see you in the game!

Post by Quarantina on Feb 22, 2009 15:17:35 GMT -5
Hi everyone~ I'm Quarantina (not my real name, haha). I found this game via a thread on the OnRPG forums, and, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually quite the loner in MMORPGs, so I wasn't so sure if I'd enjoy something that so heavily relies on teamwork and cooperation, but... well, I like it. It helps that everyone is so friendly, too. I like a lot of different things, I guess, so I'll do the ol' list... thingy. Movies: I'm not terribly exciting here... I like adventure/fantasy/sci-fi sort of things. Like the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Indiana Jones movies (though I've only seen the first two), that sort of thing. Also used to be a big fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, but I haven't actually watched them in years. Television: Not too much. I occasionally watch things like the History channel or Discovery... I'll turn on the Daily Show and the Colbert Report when those are on, sometimes. Anime: Yeah, I used to be a huge anime fan. I still am, I guess, though I distance myself from fandom mostly. I love One Piece, and it's become a bit of a mission of mine to introduce people to the Giant Robo OVA from the '90s. Also a bit of a fan of Lupin III (though I've only seen The Castle of Cagliostro and Dead or Alive). And Castle in the Sky is one of my favorite movies, anime or otherwise. My tastes here tend to run similar to my tastes in movies. Games: Aside from Puppet Guardian, I play a lot of Team Fortress 2. I'm terrible at it, yes, but I still enjoy playing with people I know. Public servers, well, my mileage varies quite wildly. Besides that, I like a little bit of everything. I love to play board and card games from time to time, as well. Music: I just made a post about this in the music thread, haha... I like a lot of rock kind of stuff, though my tastes branch out a bit from there. Other hobbies I have... welllll, I really like to travel, though I get homesick easily. I do read from time to time, with my tastes in fiction being similar to my tastes in movies/TV/anime. Right now, I'm kind of in a slump with my life, so there isn't too much exciting going on. I hope to get things back on track soon, though.

Thanks for the intro.
The movie by Miyazaki called Castle in the Sky has influenced the developer of this game, Kentaro Ishizaka in different ways. I think Miyazki is an exceptional artist and if you haven't seen Spirited Away, watch it as soon as you can. It is an unbelievable piece of animation.
Good to have you aboard.

I'm not good with introductions, I was never one to stand up in front of the class. Let's see... I found this game on the OnRPG Forums, thanks to Leaf. My in-game name is Somar, Friend ID is 0-1162 (but I am full right now) I like long walks on the...oh wait, wrong place. Anyway, Just a bit of personal stuff about me. I'm from Alaska, but I've been almost everywhere in the world...except Japan I have two cats, one is fat, the other is skinny. I'm half Spanish, half German. I love video games lol, I'm really into Left 4 Dead and Call of Duty at the moment. (and PG <3) I like to read...everything I can. There's too many "I"s up there, hate talking about myself. Nice to meet you everyone.
