lets see if you can answer this..
As an improvement upon the accepted notion that winners can only gain as much as the losers lose. Sam Loyd took occasion to call attention to a more profitable style of play. Pay attention to the following narration: "Four jolly men sat down to play, and played all night till break of day; They play for gold and not for fun, with separate scores for everyone. Yet, when they came to Square accounts, they all had made quite fair amounts! Can you you the paradox explain? If no one lost, how could all gain?"
*The above problem is by America's greatest Creator of puzzles, Sam Loyd.
(admin, puppets, everyone is acceptable..)
P.S. if you know this already.. just pm me ;D

Let's see.. The 4 Jolly men sat down to play? When I hear "Sat down to play" I think of someone who plays a String Instrument. So they played all Night For Gold and not fun~~Each played a separate score, Score could refer to as a Musical Piece? So each played Different music I suppose. They all got fair amounts, So they must be in a band and split the money. So they all gained Money by working together on playing their Part in the Music without losing much (Maybe they lost Sleep Hehe) That's what I think!

okies, nice try guys. but the real answer is this:
The answer according to Sam Loyd, was simple; the four men were all fiddlers in German band and were each paid $5 at the end of the night for their endeavors (wages circa 1900). The puzzle does not say that they were gambling at cards although that is the usual assumption of the reader.
good job nelliel. you have two insect intestine from me, for only 1g. hehehe lols =)

hmmmmm....Interpret this philosophy. If you can,you have a deep profound base for philosophy either that,or youve played assassins creed XD.Yukitora, chrissy and silvervine are not allowed to play! XD. "nothing is real, everything is permitted" interpret.0r else .(no assassins creed players allowed XD.unless you dont know what it means.then you can play) (this was said by hassan-i-sabbah,the leader of the true hashashins.)
